What is a custom gobo?

A gobo is a thin disc placed inside a lighting fixture to project a pattern, logo or texture. A custom gobo is produced from customer-supplied artwork and confirmed against the fixture, rather than assumed from a catalogue size.

What is it used for?

Custom gobos are used in stage lighting, events, weddings and architectural projection. Typical requests include logos, names, initials, dates, textures and graphic patterns.

The application does not replace fixture confirmation. The same design can need different dimensions in different fixtures.

Glass or metal?

• Glass gobos are typically used when the design needs finer detail or colour.
• Metal gobos are typically used for simpler, high-contrast cut-out patterns.

What information is needed?

Before production, we confirm:

• Fixture model
• Artwork
• Quantity
• Material and gobo type, if already known
• OD, ID and thickness, if you have an existing gobo or drawing

If the dimensions are unknown, send the fixture model, an existing gobo or a holder photo.

How is compatibility confirmed?

Gobo dimensions are not universal across all lighting fixtures. Compatibility depends on the fixture and holder design.
